A senior high school graduate is now earning praises online for being proud and appreciative of her father who did his best to witness her graduation day.
Through a Facebook post, Guillerma Idias shared some of her graduation photos together with her father, Tatay Florentino.
As seen from the photos, Tatay Florentino wore dirty and wet clothes despite the special event. This is because, after working as a backhoe operator, he hurriedly went to Guillerma’s graduation to witness one of her daughter’s milestones.
According to Guillerma, when she invited her father to join her for a picture, Tatay Florentino hesitated because he was not wearing decent clothes. However, Guillerma values the presence of her father more than his attire which is why she insists on having a picture with him.
"Sabi ko kay papa, 'Picture tayong dalawa.' Ta's sabi ni papa, 'Wag na lang kasi hindi ako nakapagbihis. Ang dumi at ang basa ko pa,” wrote Guillerma in Cebuano.
"E ano kung madumi ang damit at basa na, wala akong pake hindi kita kinakahiya, bahala kahit hindi ka pa nakapagbihis," she added.
"Thankful ako na nandito ka sa graduation ko, kahit na pagod ka galing sa trabaho, dumeretso ka talaga sa graduation ko, kahit na basa ka pa, Pa."
Many netizens applaud Guillerma’s appreciation of her father’s presence and perseverance. Most of them are parents too who can relate to Tatay Florentino who is doing everything to provide for the needs of their children and at the same time be present on their special days.
