Public students from Angeles City, Pampanga will be given free uniforms, shoes, and school supplies as announced by City Mayor Carmelo "Pogi" Lazatin Jr. in his inaugural speech.
The initiative is part of Lazatin's eight-point agenda which aims to provide opportunities for everyone.
“Poverty must never be an excuse for not giving our children a chance for a brighter future,” Lazatin said.
It can be recalled that last June, the politician first announced that the Angeles City LGU will be distributing school supplies and uniforms to daycare students when face-to-face classes resume in centers in August.
In addition, Lazatin claimed that he will coordinate with his brother, First District Cong. Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin, in building more classrooms and facilities that will best facilitate learning for children.
He also shared that he will tap telecommunications providers so that internet lines will be installed in all public schools.
