Despite her political stand, actress and philanthropist Angel Locsin has expressed her support for the Philippines' presumptive president and vice president for the betterment of the country and the Filipino people.
Locsin is a vocal and solid supporter of Presidential candidate Leni Robredo and Vice Presidential candidate Kiko Pangilinan who lost to Bongbong Marcos, and Sara Duterte, respectively, in the 2022 elections.
"Magkaiba man tayo ng stand, we should honor democracy and listen to the majority bilang ka-isang bansa," Locsin wrote in her Instagram post.
"For our country’s sake, I’m rooting for our presumptive president, vice president, & senators," she added.
Locsin said that she is also hopeful that the elected politicians would prove their competence and serve better than the country's past leaders.
"I’m hoping they’ll do better than our past leaders 🙏🏻 I am a Filipino citizen hoping to be proven wrong. Masasabi ko hong ikakasaya ko ho kung mali kami at tama kayo."
The known activist and volunteer also thanked the Leni-Kiko tandem and all the individuals who stood up for their political beliefs and expressed their love for the country.
"Despite everything, Saludo sa lahat ng tumindig 🙌🏻 Hindi ko makakalimutan ang pagmamahal sa bayan na pinakita ninyo. Huwag hayaang mabalutan ng dilim ang liwanag na nasa puso ninyo. Ngayon, higit pa man, mas kailangan kayo ng bayan. Buksan ang inyong mga mata at puso para sa bayan."
