A carpenter from Indonesia did not wish for a wishing star but became an instant millionaire after it literally fell in his home in Kolang, North Sumatra.
According to reports, coffin maker Josua Hutagalang, 33, was working next to his house when a meteorite crashed through the veranda at the edge of his living room.
With the impact, the space rock which weighs 2.1 kg, left a large hole in his roof and was buried in the soil with 15 cm depth.
Josua said, when he dig the rock out of the soil, it was still warm. He immediately suspected that the rock came from space because of how strongly it dropped in his house.
"I strongly suspect that this rock is indeed an object from the sky that many people call a meteorite. Because it is impossible someone deliberately threw it or dropped it from above," said Josua.
The carpenter then decided to sell the rock which is believed to be 4.5 billion years old. He received £1.4 million for it, equivalent to his salary for 30 years.
Josua now wants to build a church in their community using some portions of the money.
