Online game addicts continue to play despite flooded internet cafe

Despite the risk of being electrocuted  from the computer towers, a group of children were seen continuing to play a multiplayer online game in a flooded internet cafe in Cainta, Rizal.

The youngsters rushed into the internet cafe when heavy rain brought by typhoon Fabian poured down in their province last July 22.

In a video, the lads can be seen glued and serious on their chair as they grind to strike a win on a multiplayer battle game, not minding the neck-deep and muddy rainwater.

According to Sio Samson, the owner of the cafe, he tried to stop the boys from playing in his shop because of the fear that they might be washed away or killed by electric shock.

“We didn’t know the flood water would rise that day so when I saw them, I immediately took action and told them that I have to transfer the equipment to a higher place. After that video, they also stopped and left, none of us was hurt,” said Samson.

Fortunately, because the area is used to being flooded, the electricity cables and power sockets in the shops were located up in the walls and above the water level.
