Since the 2022 election is near approaching, people are already choosing their candidates hence a lot of individuals have also been speculated to run for office including the actor Dingdong Dantes.
There are some rumors that Dantes will run in the next election. Some also say that he is already being encouraged to join some political party.
Dantes is a lieutenant commander in the Philippine Navy. He is also known for his philanthropic works such as providing scholarships to students, volunteering in foundations and promoting the Philippine culture and the arts. Given this background of him, does Dantes really plan to run for the 2022 elections?
In the virtual mediacon of Amazing Earth last Friday (June 11), the 41-year-old actor has clarified that he has no plan of entering politics.
“Wala po. Wala po akong plano sa 2022,”direct-to-point answer of Dantes when asked if he will be running in the 2022 elections.
He also made clear that there are no politicians or party-lists who are already encouraging him to run for a position.
“Hindi na namin napag-usapan (pertaining to his wife, Marian) kasi wala naman po talagang any plans. So, walang napag-usapan,” he said.
Although he has no plans of becoming one of the next political leaders, Dantes said that he could actively focus on some other things especially with his advocacies. One of which is taking care of the environment.
