A man was arrested by the authorities after he was caught in the act burying a dead fetus on Friday morning (June 4) in a vacant lot in Barangay Greater Lagro, Quezon City.
According to the report of GMA News, the suspect is a 42-year-old resident of Camarin, North Caloocan.
The police said the fetus may be 6 to 7 month old only.
The man admitted that his 14-year-old stepdaughter had an abortion on Thursday (June 3). He did not know where to bury the baby that is why he looked for a vacant and secluded place.
In an interview, he said that his stepdaughter was impregnated by her boyfriend who is now nowhere to be found. They chose to abort the baby because this will just destroy the future of the child.
However, based on the investigation of the police and the statement of the stepdaughter, the suspect is the father of the dead fetus.
The man was already turned over in Caloocan Police and will have to face charges for intentional abortion with violence related to child abuse, and rape.
