Comedian-host Shalala passes away at 61

 

Comedian and TV/radio personality Carmelito "Toletes" Reyes or commonly known as Shalala in the showbiz industry passed away at the age of 61 on Wednesday (June 23) at 7:30 am.


Anthony Reyes, brother of Shalala, confirmed the sad news to PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) adding that the comedian died of pulmonary tuberculosis.


According to Reyes, Shalala was confined in the National Kidney Institute last week. After a few days, he was discharged but still weak and trying to regain strength.


Days passed and Shalala's condition is getting better. However, on Tuesday (June 22), he was rushed to Fe del Mundo Medical Center where he was revived, but unfortunately, passed away the next day.


"Ni-revive siya kahapon, nahabol naman hanggang kagabi, pero namatay na po siya kanina." said Reyes.


As of the moment, the inferement is still being discussed by his  family and relatives that is Reyes is not yet able to give any further details about his brother’s burial.


Shalala had his first big break in a famous TV program called "Walang Tulugan with the Master Showman" where he worked as a co-host of the late German Moreno.


The comedian was best known for sharing blind items in his most funniest and yet intriguing way.
