Jukebox queen Claire Dela Fuente dies at 62 due to heart attack

 OPM icon and Jukebox queen Claire Dela Fuente passed away just this morning (March 30, 2021) at the age of 62 due to cardiac arrest.

According to ABS-CBN report by entertainment correspondent MJ Felipe, the passing of the singer was confirmed by her composer/producer Jonathan Manalo who is also close to the bereaved family.

"BREAKING NEWS: OPM Icon Claire Dela Fuente passed away this morning due to cardiac arrest. Relatives of the singer confirmed her passing, thru composer/producer Jonathan Manalo who is close to the family. Currently getting more details," said the report.

Dela Fuente started his celebrity journey in the late 1970s with the jukebox hit "Sayang." Along with this, she was also the singer behind the popular songs "Nakay na Pag-ibig" and "Minsan Minsan" in the 1980s.

She was hailed as the "Jukebox Queen" together with other OPM icons like  Imelda Papin, Eva Eugenio, and the late Didith Reyes.
