Woman rushed to hospital after consuming milk tea, spicy food

A woman was rushed to the emergency room of a hospital in Marikina City last Monday (February 22) after suffering from severe abdominal pain allegedly caused by drinking milk tea and eating spicy food.

According to Jeff Nortez Serrano,  she drank a cup of milk tea and ate something with chili sauce after she went to work on Sunday (February 21). Since before, she used to eat anything that is spicy without experiencing anything on her body.

However, on Sunday evening,  she began experiencing something strange on her body but disregarded it since she thought she was just tired because of work.

Later on Monday, Serrano got a fever and experienced dizziness. This became worse during the evening when she started to feel pain in her upper abdomen and difficulty breathing.

She was then immediately rushed to the Marikina Valley Medical Center where she found out that the milk tea and spicy food she had last Sunday had triggered inflammation in her intestine.

Oral medications did not work to ease her pain so she was opted to be injected with another drug instead. At 4:30 am she was sent home but still experiencing dizziness and difficulty eating.
