An overseas Filipino worker in Saudi Arabia is overwhelmed after her employer gave her an expensive ring as a gift for her five years of service.
According to Mai Pionelo Dpcrtl, she received the gift after her employer knew that she was about to return home to the Philippines this coming March.
She added that her employer was even teary when she was giving the gold-plated ring to her. She then told Dpcrtl to take care of it because that is a gift for her hard work.
Dpcrtl said she is a single mother from Roxas City Capiz. She went abroad so she can save for the future of her three-year-old kid and provide for the needs of her parents and siblings.
She was supposed to fly back to the Philippines last 2020 but postponed after her employer was diagnosed with cancer and COVID-19 pandemic started.
