2 sons die, father in comatose after eating 'kuri' crabs in Cagayan

Two kids died while their father is still in critical condition after they ate a poisonous crab, known as "kuret" or "kuri" on Sta. Ana, Cagayan, as part of their breakfast last February 12, 2021.

According to Maylyn Cuabo, the mother in the family, the crabs were collected by his husband. Right after  they ate, they experienced dizziness and vomiting.

The three were rushed to the hospital but the  two kids, aged five and three, did not survive while their father is in comatose.

According to Tangatan village Isabelo Cariño, "kuret" crabs should not be eaten because these are poisonous and may cause death especially if the person has a weak immune system.

Meanwhile, the local government of Cagayan has already extended their help to the family by sending P30,000 for the burial of the children and medical assistance to the father.
