Look: Binibining Pilipinas candidate's natcos inspired by Virgin Mary

A candidate from Binibining Pilipinas draw attention on social media after she flexed a costume with creative and religious roots in the pageant's national costume fashion show.

Binibini no. 28, Gabrielle Camile Basiano from Borongan City, Eastern Samar dressed as the Virgin Mary with the help of the Filipino designer named Ken Batino.

With her angelic face and beautiful execution of her national costume inspired by the Padul-ong Festival of her hometown, Gabrielle appeared like a living painting.

On the official pageant Instagram page, they wrote, “Revered for her humility and motherly love, the Virgin Mary is the ultimate symbol of a WOMAN! An homage to Padul-Ong Festival, a mythical presentation that unfolds the story on how the image of the Virgin Mary was mysteriously transported from Portugal to Borongan, Eastern Samar, celebrated every September 8 of the year.”

Earlier this year, Gabrielle was also spotted wearing a holy-themed gown during the Bb Pilipinas Santacruzan parade at the Araneta Center in Cubao. The beauty queen first joined Binibiniing Pilipinas last year when she took home the Best in Long Gown and won first runner-up in the competition.
