Kapampangans stood tall on the Day of Valor for the presidential candidate Leni Robredo and aspiring vice-president Kiko Pangilinan in spite of Pampanga’s dominant political dynasty and other powerful politicians endorsing the opposing Uniteam tandem of Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Sara Duterte.
A total of 200,000 individuals are reported to be in the Manalakaran Pampanga grand rally organized by local kakampink volunteers yesterday, April 9, 2022, to welcome Robredo and Pangilinan and the whole tropang angat team.
Grand arts, food festivals, free foods, and crafts coming from the volunteers powered the rally from morning until evening.
According to Robredo, she did not expect that thousands of Kapampangan will attend her rally because she lost to Marcos in the province in the 2016 vice-presidential race.
While acknowledging the effort of the Kapampangans, Robredo emphasized that once she became the president of the country, she will serve not only her supporters but also those who are in the opposition.
“Ang obligasyon namin, dapat mag-lingkod-bayan sa kahit anong kulay. Magiging pangulo hindi lang ng mga naka-pink pero lahat ng mga kulay. Ang ating paniniwala, ‘pag tapos na ang eleksyon, dapat tapos na ang politika,” Robredo said.
