Isabel Shieh, 14, is recognized as one of the "7 Famous Computer Programmers Who Started Programming at an Early Age” released by the website Interesting Engineering. Together with her in the list is the co-founder of Microsoft, Bill Gates, and Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook.
According to Isabel, she started to have interest in coding when she was just 10 years old.
One of her teachers noticed that she is excellent in Math and told her to try coding, a process that is used to create softwares, applications, websites, and even games..
As a curious kid, Isabel searched about coding in the internet until she landed on online videos teaching viewers on how to code.
“When I was around 10 years old, my teacher saw that I was really interested in math, and he suggested that I try out coding.
“So I looked into it. I basically searched things like ‘How to learn to code’ online.
"The first thing I found was a website called Code Academy that had resources for learning coding.”
From there, the teenager learned HTML o HyperText Markup Language, CCC o Common Command Set, and JavaScript and is currently practicing Python.
Luckily, Isabel's parents are very supportive with her interest that they even hire a tutor to help her learn more about coding.
To help other young girls who also want to learn how to code, Isabel recently founded the company "Girls Will Code."
