Garbage collector happy and proud to see her daughter graduate from college

 

With the help of his small earnings from being a garbage collector, a father had successfully helped his daughter graduate and obtain her dream college degree.

In GMA Network’s Father’s Day series “#SalamatPa '' in 2018, the story of Tatay Cristito was featured inspiring many netizens, especially parents who also hope to help their children finish their school in spite of their financial incapabilities.

Tatay Cristito wakes up at 3 a.m. to get to work at 4 a.m. Despite the risks and health hazards that he is exposed to in collecting and sorting garbage, he still continues to do his job for his family.

“Mahirap, kasi marami akong anak. Pero kahit mahirap, kinakaya ko. Minsan wala kaming makain,” shared Tatay Cristito.

Nevertheless, for the hardworking father, every sacrifice he makes is worth it, especially when he saw his daughter Jenny Rose Quimado successfully graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition and Food Technology.

“Hanggat malakas ako, pipilitin kong makatapos sila e…’Yung pag-aaral nila hindi ko pinababayaan kasi iyon lang ang ano ko sa  kanila e…’yung makatapos sila.”
