'It's a yes!': Teacher surprises boyfriend with a wedding proposal on his birthday

Netizens are now throwing their various comments and opinions after the story of a teacher who knelt down and proposed to her boyfriend in Brgy. Canan, Cabatuan, Isabela went viral online.

According to Lyka Sharaine Domingo, a 23-year-old sub-teacher, she was really planning to propose to her boyfriend Richard Angeles, 31, even before the pandemic happened.

However, due to unfortunate situations, her plans were postponed until she found an opportunity to throw the wedding proposal on Richard's birthday last July 6.

"Naitapat po na birthday ng aking boyfriend, kaya kinuha ko po 'yung pagkakataon para mag-propose," said Sharmaine who is very happy to received a "yes" from Richard.

The teacher clarified that she and her fiance have already talked about their wedding since January. As a matter of fact, they intend to tie the knot this  December after eight years of being together.

"Pero napag-usapan na po namin ang kasal noong last January pa. Sabi nga po niya, naunahan ko raw po siya hehehe."

While the couple is still on cloud nine, netizens have a lot to say about the proposal. Some lauded Sharmaine for breaking the stereotype that only men can do wedding proposals while others insist that she should have just waited for her boyfriend to ask her hand.

Nevertheless, Sharamaine is very proud of what she did and even encourages other women not to be afraid in expressing their love to their loved ones, especially to  their partners.
