The House of Representatives has already approved on Tuesday (June 1) the P401-billion Bayanihan to Arise As One bill or the Bayanihan 3 relief bill on its 3rd and final reading.
Voting 238-0-1, the lower chamber approved House Bill 9411 which aims to provide financial assistance worth P2,000 to every Filipinos regardless of their socioeconomic status.
The largest portion of the said measure which is P216 billion will be allotted for the cash assistance of 108 million Filipinos while the rest of the budget will be divided to the other programs under the Bayanihan 3.
However, Senate President Vicente Sotto III said that the bill is not yet among the priorities of the upper chamber.
As a matter of fact, according to Sotto, Bayanihan 3 was not even discussed in the recent hearing of the Legislative Executive Development Advisory Council.
