A fire broke out in Pasig City General Hospital in Maybunga, Pasig City on Wednesday morning (May 12, 2021).
According to the Bureau of Fire Protection-National Capital Region, the flame started at the storage room of the hospital.
The Bureau said, the first alarm was raised at 10:33 a.m. It then reached the third level alarm at 11:09 am.
At 1:19 p.m., the fire was declared under control and at 3 p.m. the firefighters proclaimed fire out.
The storage room contains medical supplies like syringes, dialysis solution, alcohol, formalin, detergent powder, pillows, blanket, and many more, said Robert Romba of the hospital's procurement and materials management office.
Pasig City General Hospital Administrator Arlene Samonte also clarified that there are no vaccines stored in the affected area.
In a twitter post, Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto shared that the fire grew because of the stockpile of alcohol in the area.
Based on the reports, no one is injured while 14 patients were transferred to different medical facilities in Pasig City.
