Pinay nurse inherits $60-M from her rich American employer

An overseas Filipino worker received an unexpected fortune after  inheriting $60 million or P2 billion worth of wealth and property  of her American employer in America.

The OFW is Gicela Hadassah Olorosso from Capiz who served as a nurse to her former employer Huguette Clark.

Clark is a daughter of a senator and owner of a mining  company. Having no children or heiress to pass on her wealth, she just decided to divide her fortune to her nurses and other staff, including Olorosso, when she died in 2011 at the age of 104.

After Olorosso got married to an Israeli immigrant in 1982, she started working as a nurse for Clark who was then 82 years old and set to undergo a cancer operation.

Since then, she has become one of the loyal servants and companions of Clark working 12 hours a day and seven days in a week just to provide the care needed by the employer.

They also became friends that whenever Olorosso has problems at home, Clark was always ready to help.

Many are thinking that the wealth that was passed on to Olorosso can now assure a better present and future to her and her children but based on reports, Olorosso came from a well-off family and has been enjoying a bountiful life since then.

According to Olorosso, the inheritance she received from her employer was just an additional blessing which she will treasure for the rest of her life.

This story was first released in 2013 but this continues to inspire and give hope for all OFWs around the world that not all employers are evil and abusive.
