Kimchi can help to fight against symptoms of COVID-19


A traditional side dish of Korea, Kimchi can help to fight against COVID-19 symptoms. World Institute of Kimchi (WiKim) said that Kimchi has a various nutrients such as cabbage, red pepper, and garlic to control antioxidants system in the human body.


Wikim together with research team in French that leads by Jean Bousquet a professor emeritus in University of Montpellier noticed on their study that  East Asian Countries has least number of deaths in COVID-19 including Korea and sub-Saharan African countries.


The citizens on the said countries are always eating vegetables like Kimchi and many nutritious food. According to the researchers that the Kimchi gives a lot of nutrients like sulforaphane comes from cabbage, allicin from garlic, capsaicin from red pepper, gingerol from ginger, and lactobacillus as result in fermenting process.


Nutrients from Kimchi has interacted in Nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) an antioxidant system in human body, blocking the nerve channels that perceive COVID-19 symptoms.


Professor Bousquet said that Kimchi is rich in antioxidants and effective food to fight against COVID-19 and because of Kimchi Korea has low rate of COVID-19 deaths.
