Extreme sadness was felt by a lot of netizens after a story of a young mother whose husband died while she was giving birth went viral online.
Based on the story shared by Father Marlito G. Ocon on Facebook on Friday (April 16), a young pregnant mother brought herself alone to the emergency room of Philippine General Hospital as she was starting her labor.
She was not accompanied by her husband because of his cough and fever which they never thought of as signs and symptoms of COVID-19.
When the woman arrived in the hospital and after she successfully delivered her baby, it was identified that she and her newborn is positive of COVID-19.
This was also the time when the mother was informed that her husband has already passed away at their home because of COVID-19.
"But she was about to be discharged yesterday, sabi niya, "Ang lungkot Father, wala na akong asawa mauwian, abo na ang asawa ko, di man lang kami nagkausap, di ko man lang maibalita na may 2nd baby na kami, di man lang sila nagkita ng anak namin,'" wrote Father Ocon.
Many netizens sympathized with the young mother. They all hope for her fast recovery and her baby. Some also advised the woman to remain strong and strengthen her faith for the sake of her two children.
