2 young girls caught by immigration after faking age, identity to work abroad

Two young women were prevented from pushing through to their scheduled flights after the Bureau of Immigration (BI) found out that the two falsified their details in order to work abroad.

The said victims both came from Mindanao and were supposed to go in Saudi Arabia to work as domestic helpers.

According to the report of Manila Bulletin, the two ladies were separately intercepted by the bureau at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) and the Clark International Airport last week.

One of the underaged victims used the identity of an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) who is currently working in Saudi Arabia as a household helper.

On the other hand, the other girl falsified her birthdate to meet the minimum age required to work as a domestic helper in Saudi Arabia.

She was later on recognized as a high school student after she admitted her true age and handed over her personal identification card during the interrogation.

Both victims were already turned over to the inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking while their recruiters will be facing criminal charges by the agency.
