Ang Dating Daan's Bro. Eli Soriano dies at age 73


Ang Dating Daan's Bro. Eliseo 'Eli' Soriano passed away at age 0f 73 in early Friday, his religious community Members Church of God International said.



In a Facebook post, the organization declared the televangelist's downfall, but did not expose the cause of his death, "It is with deep sadness, yet with full faith in the Almighty, that we announce the passing of our beloved and one and only Bro. Eliseo "Eli" Soriano - a faithful preacher, brother, father and grandfather to many," the group said in a statement.



“While his temporary repose is a loss to many, WE in the members Church of God International, Inc., would like to assure the public that the programs and projects initiated by Bro. Eli will continue,” it added.



Soriano was well regarded as the host of Ang Dating Daan, a radio and television show that began broadcasting on the radio in 1980. By 1983, the show became a TV program as well.



Ang Dating Daan actually airs in 73 countries worldwide, according to members of the Church of God International.



Established in 1947 in Pasay City and raised in Pampanga, Soriano was the "Overall Servant" of the Church of God International Priests, a Christian religious organisation based in Pampanga.



He was well known for "Bible Expositions" wherein guests ask impromptu questions personally or via live video streaming or telephone calls and Soriano was also critical of what he said are "doctrinal errors" of other religious groups.
