Dela Rosa, suportado ang pagsasabatas ng mandatory SIM card registration

Sang-ayon ang senador na si Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa sa pagpapasa ng Upper House of Senate Bill 2395 o SIM (subscriber identification module) Card Registration Act upang umano mas mapalawig ang pagsugpo ng krimen sa bansa.

“With the proposed measure…SIM card registration shall now be mandatory as a prerequisite for the sale thereof, including all existing SIM card subscribers with active services who shall likewise be required to register with their respective Public Telecommunications Entity,” saad ni Dela Rosa sa isang co-sponsorship speech nitong Biyernes (September 17).

Giit  ng dating Philippine National Police (PNP) chief, maging ang mga cellphone ay ginagamit na rin ng mga scammer at terorista sa paggawa ng mga ilegal na gawain.

Madali rin aniya makapagtago ang mga kriminal ng kanilang pagkakakilanlan dahil madali rin nilang maitatapon ang mga ginagamit nilang prepaid SIM card.
