Many are now amazed at a 19-year-old student who recently bought a house using her own money which she earned from working as a call center agent.
The teenager Patricia Mae Tandas is a college student taking up Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Cavite State University - Tanza.
In her interview with GMA News, she shared that at first, she just wanted to help her family and buy the things that she wanted when she was just starting on her job.
But later on, she realized that she is spending too much money on things that are not really important.
That's when Tandas thought of investing in something more valuable and which she and her family could use in the long run. But, her mother did not think that she was planning to purchase a house and lot.
"Dati, pangarap ko lang talaga magkaroon ng sarili kong kwarto. Ngayon, mas malaki pa sa kwarto 'yung makukuha ko. Katas ng puyat at pagod sa pagiging call center agent. Estudyante pa 'yan sa umaga," said Tandas on her Facebook post on July 5.
Because of her story, many teenagers are now encouraged to work at their young age but Tandas has some tips and reminders so they could successfully reach whatever goal they have.
"Tips para sa mga gustong mag-trabaho habang bata pa:
1. Magpaalam muna sa parents kung okay lang ba.
2. Lakarin ang sandamakmak na requirements. Mahaba pila huhu tyagaan lang talaga.
3. Needs over wants! Kung hindi pa talaga kailangan, 'wag mo muna bilhin.
4. Kailangan maging masipag. Hindi tayo mayaman para magtamad-tamad.
5. Matutong mag-ipon! Kahit paunti-unti, ayos na basta may naitatabi."
